Competition Team Rules & Expectations

Joining our Competition Team is a privilege that comes with responsibility. Please read and commit to the following:

  • Eligibility:
    Must be enrolled in ballet plus at least one other core class such as jazz, lyrical/contemporary, or open class.

  • Attendance:
    Regular attendance is mandatory. Maximum of 3 absences allowed from Performance Team classes between Term 1 and competitions. Excess absences may result in removal from the team and competition routines.

  • Commitment:
    Dancers must be available for all rehearsals, performances, and competitions, including school holiday events (dates to be confirmed).

  • Conduct:
    Positive attitude, good sportsmanship, and teamwork are essential. Support fellow team members and respect all staff decisions.

  • Preparation:
    Always arrive on time, in correct uniform or costume, warmed up and ready to dance.

  • Communication:
    Parents and dancers must direct all concerns or questions to studio staff. Personal contact with other families regarding team matters is discouraged to maintain trust and clarity.

  • Withdrawal:
    If you can no longer commit, please inform staff promptly. No refunds are given for missed lessons or withdrawal after enrolment in competition classes.

Competition Team Contract

By joining The Dance Complex Competition Team, you agree to:

  1. Uphold all attendance and behaviour standards outlined above.

  2. Participate fully in all team rehearsals, performances, and competitions.

  3. Respect The Dance Complex’s intellectual property, including choreography, and refrain from unauthorized sharing or recording.

  4. Support the team ethos of encouragement, respect, and professionalism.

  5. Abide by all uniform and costume guidelines and deadlines, including costume deposits and payments.

  6. Maintain open, respectful communication with staff, understanding that decisions are made in the best interests of the team and individual dancers.

  7. Accept that failure to comply with these terms may result in removal from the team.
